$1 Million in Google AdSense Earnings

Posted by Administrator in Adsense at 12:14 am | Permanent Link

Scott Adams

They are calling him the million dollar man. Jason Calacanis recently revealed in his blog that he is on track to earn a million dollars from AdSense over the year ahead.

And if that number doesn’t wake you up and have you sitting on the edge of your seat, consider for a moment that he reached this level in less than a year. His company only started using AdSense in September 2004.

Calacanis runs Weblogs Inc., a network dedicated to creating trade
weblogs across niche industries. And he’s quickly proven that AdSense is a credible advertising partner.

As their network has grown, so has their AdSense revenue. In January 2005 they earned an average of $580 per day. In
March it was $737. In May it was $1,585. One day in July, just before he made the blog entry referred to above, they earned $2,335. Remember that is just for one day. If they can take that daily average to $2,740 they’ll be earning a rate
of $1 million for a year. And Calacanis predicts that reaching daily earnings of $3,000 or even $5,000 is quite achievable.

That’s quite an achievement. Keep in mind that Calacanis has 103 bloggers on the payroll and nine staffers.
Even so, many webmasters would give an arm or a leg to have even a third of that.

Google’s AdSense has been revolutionary. It has become firmly established as the darling of the online advertising industry. Although rumors
are heard of major competitors launching a similar service, AdSense’s premier position seems secure for now.

In essence, AdSense has made it possible for almost anyone with a web site or blog to earn some revenue from advertising, without having to employ sales people or spend precious time searching for advertisers.

AdSense works like this. Webmasters sign up for an account in just a few minutes. They receive a small snippet of code to include on their web pages. Google will then automatically serve advertisements that are relevant to the content on the webmaster’s pages. When someone visits the webmaster’s site and clicks on one of Google’s AdSense advertisements, the webmaster earns a fee. Advertisers can pay anywhere from five cents to a hundred dollars per click, and the webmaster receives a percentage of that fee.

Many webmasters are content with earning five to ten dollars from AdSense to cover
the cost of web hosting. But many, unsurprising, have higher ambitions. At a popular WebmasterWorld forum, participants share tips and encouragement on reaching a goal of $300 per day from AdSense. So it is no wonder that Calacanis created quite a buzz when he made his million dollar blog entry.

Google have proven once again that they excel at designing innovative Internet services. If you are in the web industry and have not yet used AdSense, then perhaps you should try it out. Or if you are already using it, perhaps Calacanis’ impressive results will encourage you to track the performance of your AdSense units more closely, fine tune their positions and formats, and take your earnings to a new level.

You’ve got your website, you’ve got your first ebook written and you want to have a membership site too. You wouldn’t mind integrating your sales automatically with an autoresponder and a bulletin board system. How can you do all of this together? Paypal won’t provide the integration, nor will Clickbank.

The best system we have found for this is called Ashop. It is a digital mall/shopping cart, with integration into mailing list programs, bulletin board systems, membership site functionality, and even has its own built in two-tier affiliate program right out of the box!

It is worth every cent. Very flexible and great technical support! Integrates with paypal, authorize.net and many other payment processors. We use it on a 6 figure income producing site and it just humms!

Boost your sales and automate your online store!

The Top Seven Mistakes eBook Authors Make

The Top Seven Mistakes eBook Authors Make

-By Jim Edwards and David Garfinkel

eBooks are the hottest thing going on the Web right now!

Authors with the entrepreneurial instinct are making
anywhere from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars
per month - that’s right, per month - by selling ebooks
online.

Why are some authors doing so much better than others?
We’ve discovered seven key mistakes that most ebook authors
make (and in doing so, hold themselves back from major
success):

1. They don’t write to a specific, target audience.

The biggest mistake most ebook authors make is they don’t
clearly define, identify and visualize who they are selling
their ebook to. On the Web, to be successful, you must
write to a specific group of people who have specific
interests. Make sure that you know exactly who is going to
buy your ebook, and where you can find them online.

2. They don’t automate as many of their business activities
as possible.

Selling ebooks, though it is highly profitable, is not a
business where you make hundreds of dollars per sale.

Automate everything you can - credit card processing, ebook
delivery, as much technical support as possible. If you
can’t automate a function, delegate it to someone else.

3. They don’t have a compelling title for their ebook.

Use words that convey the benefit of what’s in the ebook, as
well as words your audience is familiar with.

A bad title for an ebook: “Online Marketing for Newbies.” A
good title for the same ebook: “97 Ways to Promote Your
Website - No Experience Required.”

4. They try to cover too much ground.

Many ebook authors convey a lot of information but don’t
cover anything in-depth. As a result, they never fully
explain anything in enough detail to provide any useful
value to their readers. This is a very bad mistake to make,
especially when it comes to how-to ebooks, which happen to
be the best type to write.

5. They are not proactive in their marketing.

It would be nice if marketing for your ebook simply happened
on its own - but it doesn’t. You have to do it yourself.
After you’ve promoted your ebook to the people on your own
mailing list (if you have one), then you have to contact
other Website owners and persuade them to be your
affiliates. You should do this continually.

6. They don’t differentiate their ebook from its
competitors.

When you choose your topic, even if there are a hundred
other ebooks out there on same general subject, choose an
angle for yours that will make it easy for yours to be
distinguished from the others.

For example, right now job-hunting ebooks are very popular.
There are dozens that are big sellers. “Secrets of Breaking
Into Pharmaceutical Sales” has a very specific title that
sets it apart from the competition, and is aimed at a
clearly identified target audience. Incidentally, it’s
selling very well itself.

7. They write ebooks that nobody will pay for.

Many ebook authors write about information that either
people can get for free, or that people are not actually
interested in enough to pay for the information.

Before you invest weeks or months into the writing of your
ebook, invest a little time investigating whether other
ebooks in the same subject area are selling on the Web.

So, there you have it - the seven big mistakes to avoid.
Remember, the opportunities are plentiful - and huge - right
now for anyone who wants to become a best-selling ebook
author. Simply use common sense, follow our advice, and let
your literary career flourish!

3 Overlooked Profit Opportunities on Your Site

Posted by Administrator in General Web Mktg at 8:27 am | Permanent Link

By Yanik Silver
www.SurefireMarketing.com

If you’re already selling anything online this article is
going to show you how to add extra revenue you didn’t even
know you had “hiding” in your site without getting any more
visitors.

* Overlooked Way #1 - An Upsell:

If you’ve been in marketing for any time you’ve probably
heard of “upsells” or “bumps”. Car dealers are excellent at
using this technique. Once you have agreed to buy a car you
then go into the finance office. This finance guy is really
another place where they try to extract as much money as
possible from you; dealer financing, extended warranties,
rust coating, a low-jack security system, etc. These
additions will normally add as much, or more, profit to the
dealer as the original sale. These are upsells or cross-
sells.

Another great example is if you’ve ever called a late night
infomercial you will be given an upsell. They will offer
you a special deal on the third bottle of super grime
cleaner if you buy 2 bottles. These upsells usually end up
bringing more profit than the original item people intended
to purchase.

Why not do the same online?

This little “magic trick” can instantly increase your
profits 20-66% even without getting any additional business
or website visitors. It works great because your prospect
is all hot and heavy and ready to buy. They’ve got their
credit card in their hand and they’ve already made the
commitment. (If you read Robert Cialdini’s book “Influence:
The Psychology of Persuasion” you’ll see commitment and
consistency is a key psychological trigger.)

There are a couple ways I’ve successfully used upsells on
my sites:

First you can use an “intermediary” page. Once prospects
click on the order buttons they’re taken to a new page (and
not the order form). This page tells people about a special
offer that is for today only and that they can get a
‘deluxe’ or ‘gold’ version of the package for X dollars
more. You can make the upsell a big dollar amount or a
small insignificant little ‘bump’. I do this on
www.Instantsalesletters.com and my numbers have been quite
good using this technique - as high as 68% some days. So think
about my additional profit margins just by inserting this
one extra page. Awesome!

Another way of doing this is by “recommending” a product.
Anytime you buy something from Amazon - that’s exactly what
they do. Up comes a page that “Customers who bought __ also
bought__” and then they have a slew of products.

Next, you can also have the upsell right on the Order page.
I’ve even used something as simple as putting a check box
on my order form on www.InstantInternetProfits.com. It could
be that simple. On this we get a 25% upsell rate. Take a look
at what appears at the bottom after the customer has
already filled out their info to buy the course

You have to play fair and let people get the original price
and package you offered but there’s no reason you shouldn’t
add a complimentary upsell immediately. The upsell is one
of the easiest (and most profitable) techniques you can
start implementing tomorrow. This is like the “would you
like fries” strategy. Unless you’re offering “fries” you’re
missing out on tons and tons of profit. You simply need to
come up with a couple more compelling bonuses, packages or
up-sells that people will get for the upgrade.

* Overlooked Way #2 - Thank You Pages:

After upsells, I’d say ‘thank you’ pages are one of the
most overlooked profit hot-spots. Once again, there are
several ways I’ve used this technique. First of all,
anytime somebody buys a product from you online - they are
taken to some kind of thank you page. Most people will
simply put “Thank you for your order” and that’s it. They
leave the customer with their credit card in their hands to
go off to some other website and give them money. Why not
give people a special deal on the thank you page or at
least give them links to your other products or other
people’s products that you make an affiliate commission on?

Now if it’s a digital product - then they need to get their
download but you can also put some recommended resources
right on the download page. At the bottom of the digital
download page for www.PublicDomainRiches.com we have a
recommendation for the new Public Domain Gold Mine(tm)
package.

Those aren’t the only thank you pages. Many people totally
forget about the ‘thank you’ pages that come up after
someone signs up for your list. Now where you want to send
them will depend on where they are in the sales process -
but you can have a list of recommended resources that comes
up AFTER people subscribe to your email list. Why not? If
that’s the last action you were expecting - you should look
for ways to profit from this.

* Overlooked Way #3 - Thank You Emails/Confirmations:

Don’t forget the initial email confirmation you send back
to your customers. Last technique we talked about making
offers on the thank you page but your ‘thank you’ email is
one of the most read emails. In addition to the ‘typical’
stuff you should include like customer service information,
who will bill their credit card, etc why not add a simple
P.S. to the bottom of the email like I do offering
additional resources (or even a special deal just for
customers).

I guarantee just putting these 3 easy overlooked ways to
work on your site will help squeeze out even more profits
for you & without adding a single visitor. Give it a try.

“E-commerce”

A word pervading our society, making headlines around the
world, and causing the stock market to rise and fall with
startling ease.

It seems every business news story centers on some
technology company’s “DOT-com” or “DOT-bomb”!

With all the positive and negative hoopla, business owners
of any size company can throw up their hands and feel the
“E” world has left them behind.

Every business owner, salesperson, or professional asked one
of two questions in the past year, either “Am I using e-
commerce correctly?” or “How do I effectively get involved
in e-commerce?” Read the rest of this entry »

Using an Autoresponder

Posted by Administrator in General Web Mktg at 5:04 pm | Permanent Link

Many people are familar with email, but few are familiar with autoresponders. What is an autoresponder? It is simply a program that automatically sends out emails to subscribers at a set time. With an autoresponder, you do not need to follow up on every subscriber. You can now let them subscribe to your newsletter, ezine, or even build a series of email tutorials. Autoresponders get your message in front of visitors again and again.

The key benefits of an autoresponder are:

* Website visitors don’t order on the first visit
* They need more information after the first visit
* They are too busy right now to make a decision
* The timing is right for them to buy due to financial constraints
* They are still evaluating other products or services and haven’t chosen what is right for them yet
* An autoresponder builds brand awareness
* Autoresponders build credibility and trust by showing consistant followup

If you have your own server, the best possible solution is to use Listmail Pro. Listmail pro has a sophisticated timed autoresponder that will automatically generate followup letters to your visitors. It sends automated confirmation emails. It allows you to customize your pages and emails in html to fit your site exactly. You can build unlimited lists with unlimited follow ups and emailings.

Best of all it is a one time charge, unlike many subscription type autoresponders. Give Listmail Pro a spin. It will resolve your mailing issues once and for all.

Apple’s announcement comes as no surprise to many “expert”
market watchers, but their stock did go up about 10% within
